Long before Lavender Salve became a signature product at Los Poblanos, Penny Rembe, the matriarch of Los Poblanos, wanted a remedy that could soothe and protect the hardworking hands around the farm. She turned to her home kitchen, gathering a handful of pure, naturally healing ingredients and warming them gently on a 1930s Garland stove.
What emerged was a rich, restoring salve that offered comfort after long days in the fields. Penny shared it freely with staff and guests, planting the seeds for our Bath and Body Collection.
As demand grew, Penny’s original recipe remained untouched. The same five ingredients she selected decades ago are still the foundation of every batch today. While we now hand pour the salve in larger quantities to keep up with its devoted following, the process remains rooted in craft and intention. Each jar carries the unmistakable scent of our organic lavender essential oil, grown and distilled on the Los Poblanos farm, and reflects Penny’s belief that simple ingredients, handled with care, can make something truly enduring.
